Weekday Worship

Tuesday Evening Eucharist (7.30 p.m.)

- a time of quiet, reflective worship using  simple contemporary styles, offering prayer and sharing Holy Communion together “in the round”. The worship lasts about 35 minutes.

 Thursday Morning Eucharist (10.00 a.m.)

Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer. There is a sermon. Afterwards we have coffee in church. On most Thursdays there are  25+ worshippers.

On Wednesdays we celebrate the Eucharist out in the community
in one of three settings:

Church @ CaptTed's Alternate Wednesdays  9.30- 10.30 a.m.
Worship for mums (and dads) with toddlers. Use  the soft play facilities of CaptTed's (in the Gosforth precinct) and enjoy a coffee with time  for worship, prayer, reflection and conversation - all for free!


Holy Communion at Abbeyfield (The Grove) 10.30 a.m.

Members of our church congregation join Abbeyfield residents.  All are welcome.  We sing some hymns and have a time of reflection together.For details of  dates see What's On or Calendar pages

Holy Communion at Homedowne House (The High Street) 10.30 a.m.

All are welcome to join residents at Homedown as we celebrate Holy Communion together share thoughts and prayers and have a coffee after. For details of  dates see What's On or Calendar pages 

 

 Daily Prayer

Using Common Worship: Daily Prayer.  We celebrate Morning and Evening Prayer from Monday to Friday. This allows us to read Holy Scripture together and to offer prayer for our community and wider world. Most days the parish clergy and Readers are joined by one or two members of the congregation.Please see What's on page for details of times etc.

 The  Vigil -  Saturdays: 5.00 p.m.

Following ancient Church tradition , on Saturday evening we celebrate The Vigil in  preparation for Sunday worship. This is a very beautiful and reflective time of worship lasting about 30 minutes. There are readings and  a psalm, devotions and prayer and at least one hymn. We use incense at this service as a sign of our prayer and worship.
