Sunday Worship

7.15 Morning Prayer at the very start of Sunday just one or two of us prepare quietly, praying for all those who will gather during the day.

8.00 Holy Communion (BCP)

A very quiet, contemplative celebration of Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer. With a short address. Lasts about 35 minutes.

10.00 a.m. Parish Eucharist -  usually lasts about 70 minutes with at least 100+ adult worshippers plusone  of of our choirs. We enjoy singing hymns- and sing them well. On most Sundays we use a congregational music setting (varying according to the season)  but occasionally the Antiphon Choir sings a full Choral Eucharist.  Our style of Parish Eucharist  is fairly "traditional" but,  we hope,  welcoming and "user friendly". We use vestments and liturgical colours and  take every opportunity to celebrate the Festivals and the Seasons of  the Church Year as they come around.  There is opportunity to request prayers for your family, the sick etc. and to light prayer candles in front of our lovely icon of Christ.  Every Sunday in church we remember the departed by name and pray for their families and friends.

Sunday School

takes place, in school term time, during the first part of the Eucharist and the children join us for Communion. On most  Sundays we have 30+ children and young  people in church. The very youngest children may use an "informal creche" facility i.e. parents may take younger children into the Vestry where (under parental supervision) there is space to play and various activities provided school Those a little older have thier own activities and fun in the Church Hall. Those still  older  usually gather for their own time of worship and reflection  together in another of the vestries.

(All adults engaged in leading children's activities are CRB checked)

6.30 Parish Evensong

We use the Book of Common Prayer for this beautiful time of very traditional Anglican worship.   On most Sundays we have  hymns, a sermon and prayers. The service lasts about an hour and there are usually at least 30 worshippers.
