Our Welcome

OUR WELCOME
· We have a lively and faithful Lay Pastoral Team who through prayer, personal contact, visiting, phone calls provide a ministry of care for all the Church family and, as appropriate, the wider parish. · Every year we try to arrange a round of social events (meals, walks, sport, music etc.) to which all are welcome. · We hold a Parish Sunday lunch about three times a year. · We celebrate a Christmas Lunch each year in one of the pubs in our parish—it’s a great laugh and the bar staff are amazed that this is a church group having such fun! · There are events arranged regularly specially for young people . · The Men’s Moot meets on the first Monday evening each month for a pint and a chat. · · The church building is open as often as possible during the summer months for all to use as a place for quiet, for prayer – or just to look round. · We have “Welcome” cards available in the pews for people to fill in to ask for a visit or to be placed on the Church Family Roll. · We are trying to develop the Churchyard as a resource for the community, as a place of quiet and peace and as a wildlife resource. We have already produced a complete catalogue of all the monumental inscriptions in church and in the graveyard. We hope to gave CD copies of this available soon. · As part of our Church Yard development programme we are hoping to provide leaflets on the history and wildlife of the Churchyard |
